Georgetown, California (Q61) . . . .Return
In the heart of California's Gold Country

A lot has happened here since I first flew in and camped out. Steve and Trish ran the local FBO at that time. I don't know all of the details, but, they got kicked out around 2002. Lots of political BS with the towns folk more than likely. |

The Grumman folks used to have a fly-in-camp-out there every October. I'm not sure what happened. It's been years since I heard of a fly-in to Georgetown. I'm going to make it a point to start the fly-in again druing 2005 |

Georgetown will take you back 100 years and then some. The town itself is just 2 miles from the airport. If you've never been to Georgetown, pack your tent and sleeping bags and set up camp across the ramp, up in the trees. The campground has showers, restrooms, and picnic tables, and there is even a pond full of frogs that'll entertain you all night. |
